Eric in Willington, CT reached out after discovering mold on the underside of his roof and noticing discoloration along the back section. Even though the roof was only about 15 years old, the ventilation in that area wasn’t doing its job, leading to trapped moisture and the start of mold growth.
To fix the issue at its source, we did a partial roof replacement focused on the problem area. All of the plywood in the back section was removed and replaced to eliminate any lingering mold. We also added the AirFlow Complete ridge vent system across the back to dramatically improve air circulation. With better airflow, heat, and humidity won’t get trapped under the roof anymore, stopping mold before it can return.
Eric also chose to replace his old leaf protection with the Raindrop Gutter Guard System, which helps keep gutters flowing properly so water doesn’t back up and add to moisture problems. We finished off the job with IKO Dynasty shingles in Summit Gray, giving the roof a clean, uniform look with the performance to match.
