This cozy, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home has been facing unusually high energy bills. The homeowner, Peter, reached out to Fortenberry Roofing to assess the attic and evaluate the condition of the insulation. During the inspection, we identified deteriorating insulation. Our team conducted a thorough walk-through of the attic, measuring specific areas that could be contributing to inadequate air sealing.
We discovered sections of insulation that did not meet the required R-value standards, which are critical for minimizing heat transfer. Additionally, we found areas where the insulation was less than 2 inches thick. This deficiency in insulation is a primary factor contributing to the inefficient regulation of indoor temperatures, allowing hot and cold air to enter and escape the home.
To address these issues, we added 8 inches of cellulose insulation, bringing the total insulation to the recommended 10 inches. This upgrade ensures the attic now meets the required R-value range of 12-38, significantly improving the home's energy efficiency. After completing the inspection and installation, our team met with Peter to discuss our findings and the steps taken to ensure his home is properly insulated moving forward.
Mrs. Goates from Hobbs, New Mexico, contacted Fortenberry Roofing regarding blown-in insulation. She was experiencing extreme temperatures in her home, which were too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Fortenberry Roofing promptly scheduled a free quote for attic insulation and quickly met with Mrs. Goates to assess her needs.
It was determined that she required 10 inches of cellulose insulation to achieve an R-38 value. Additionally, the bathroom exhaust hose needed reattachment, a 3x10 opening had to be covered with Silver Gol insulation, and air sealing with fire retardant foam was necessary.
Mrs. Goates was eager to proceed with Fortenberry Roofing, and we ensured her home was prepared for the impending cold weather. Our crew efficiently completed the work in one day, leaving Mrs. Goates extremely satisfied with the improved comfort of her home. She remarked that her home felt better than it had in years.

A homeowner in Levelland, Texas, reached out to Fortenberry Roofing Co. for help with insulation needs in a converted garage. Leo, one of our roofing and insulation specialists, was dispatched to provide a free quote and inspection.
During the walkthrough, Leo identified that the attic had little to no insulation. He explained to the homeowner that bringing the attic up to an R-38 insulation value would require adding approximately 11 inches of insulation. In addition, he recommended sealing the water heater penetration and constructing a small wall around the attic access to prevent insulation from falling out.
The homeowner approved the proposal, and Leo quickly mobilized his crew. The team efficiently installed the insulation, sealed the penetration, and built the necessary access wall—all while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
The customer expressed his gratitude for the crew’s professionalism, quick response, and attention to detail. He was especially pleased with the cleanup process, noting that his home was left in excellent condition.
