After living in the home for more than 17 years, Vijay in Farmington, CT, knew his roof was beginning to show its age. One of the biggest warning signs came during the winter months when ice dams formed along the roof edge, creating concerns about how the aging roofing system would continue to perform through future New England winters.

Wanting a long-term solution, Vijay decided to move forward with a full roof replacement on both the main house and attached garage. During the planning process, he emphasized one thing that was especially important to him: protecting the extensive landscaping around the property. Mature plants, shrubs, and garden areas surrounded the home, so special care was taken to ensure the work could be completed while minimizing impact to the landscaping.

On installation day, our crew carefully prepared the property before work began, placing protective coverings around sensitive areas and establishing debris-control measures. Once the roof was stripped, the team worked methodically to install the new roofing system while maintaining a clean and organized job site.

To complete the project, Vijay selected IKO Dynasty shingles in Granite Black. The bold color created a striking contrast against the home's exterior and gave the property a refreshed, updated appearance.

With the old roof replaced, the home is now equipped with a durable new roofing system and improved protection against the weather conditions that had concerned the homeowner. Just as importantly, the project was completed while preserving the landscaping that helps make the property unique.

This was a nineteen year old roof that had curling shingles. This can be caused by any number of things. If your attic is not vented properly, the trapped heat can cause the shingle material to warp and deteriorate. Improper instillation can also cause curling to happen prematurely. During our inspection, we found that a partial roof replacement was the best solution. Our crew removed the damaged shingles and replaced six damaged plywood boards to restore the structure. We then protected the area with SealoronXT Ice & Water and underlayment, before installing new shingles to match the existing roof.
