Debbie’s home in Niantic, CT has a long-standing connection with our team, dating back to one of our earliest projects. After seeing our work firsthand and following along with our updates over the years, she reached out again this time with a roofing concern that had developed over time.

The home’s roof was approximately 18 years old, and an inspection revealed issues around the chimney area where flashing had begun to fail, leading to interior leakage. The chimney itself featured a cement and brick cap, and attention was needed specifically at the middle chimney section where water intrusion was occurring.

Because the issue was localized, the project focused on a targeted repair rather than a full roof replacement. Our team completed a roof scope evaluation and addressed the problem area by removing and replacing the existing shingles around the middle chimney, installing a new cricket to help properly divert water, and repairing the chimney flashing to restore a watertight seal.

For the repair work, CertainTeed Heather Blend shingles were used to match the existing roof as closely as possible, ensuring a seamless visual blend with the surrounding materials.

With the repair completed, the chimney area is now properly sealed and reinforced to help prevent further interior leaks, extending the performance of the existing roofing system while addressing the specific problem area efficiently.

This ranch-style, single family home in Oakdale, CT was due for a full roof replacement. To start, we tore off one layer of existing roofing materials and disposed of them properly. We then located 5 damaged sheets of plywood decking, which we then removed and replaced. To weather proof their new roof, we installed two rows of Ice & Water Barrier as well as a layer of Synthetic Underlayment to help repel water. When it came to the shingles, we installed a Klaus Larsen Roofing System using Cambridge Architectural Shingles in the Dual Grey colorway. In addition, we also removed and replaced the chimney flashing and the vent pipe boot. This cozy family home is now complete thanks to Klaus Larsen Roofing!
