This review is for a roof replacement completed in July 2013.  I had forgotten to submit it and left it in the draft folder by mistake.  We received an original quote for a roof replacement from Klaus Larsen in 2012 when we first started looking into replacing the roof.  They were able to use that same quote for this work which made a really nice price savings over the four other quotes we received.  The business manager (Jeremy) arrived on July 12, 2013 for contract signing and told us that they could begin work the following Tuesday.  The original contract including a new ridge vent only covering the ridge over the breezeway between the house and garage.  We asked if it would be possible to add the same ridge vent to the main house as well so we could plug up the gable vents on the sides.  This was added to the contract on the spot and did not impact the timing of the work at all.  The contract was signed and we provided a $500 down payment. Our house is a dormered cape with 45% pitch on the front.  The entire crew was outfitted with safety harnesses while they worked on the roof and they were very conscious of maintaining a safe work environment throughout the job. The crew of six arrived right on time (7:00 AM) on Tuesday July 16th along with Klaus and got started immediately.  All of the materials they needed arrived shortly thereafter.  At this point we provided an additional payment covering 50% of the total cost. The old roof was stripped off in less than two hours.  By 1:30 in the afternoon they had installed the drip edges, attached the ice barrier and underlayment and brought the new shingles to the top of the roof.  Because of the brutal heat they left at about 2:00 but not before cleaning everything around the yard to the point that I would allow the kids to play outside. They were all back at 7:00 the next morning and again got to work right away installing the shingles and ridge venting.  By 2:30 they were finished and gone.  They left the breezeway and garage cleaner than we had it when they arrived and since the work was done we have not found a single nail or even an old piece of shingle. A couple of days later the business manager arrived to do a walk around making sure that everything was complete and the work was satisfactory.  Here we provided payment to cover the rest of the contract.  There were absolutely no hidden fees or extra expenses.  Everybody on the crew was very polite, hardworking and made less noise than my kids do on a regular basis. I would not hesitate to recommend Klaus Larsen and his crew to anybody in need of a roof, they are a pleasure to work with.  I would strongly encourage people needing a roof to a least bring them in for a quote to see how they measure up.  They provided us with valuable information about what was involved with a roof replacement and the options available to us.

They did a good job. Our roof looks phenomenal and we have had a lot of compliments! Klaus Larsen went above and beyond the call of duty for us. He knows his business and does well with what he does.

Klaus did three other special jobs for me in addition to the roof. He added exterior lighting, a dryer exhaust and installed extra wood in a valley where water and ice was accumulating. They also did a great job picking up and had it all done in one day! He really went, as they say, the extra mile.

After getting many estimates, Mike Feinberg didn't talk my head off, didn't assume I was an idiot, and did act like a gentleman offering a product that he was impressed with. The complex roof job was simply great. Also, the crew leader and the crew itself was fabulous, and it showed in the work they did. The crew cleaned up around the home, it actually looked better when they finished than when they began.  

Klaus and his crew did a great job putting a new roof on my rental property.  His price quote was very competitive, especially the price for replacing any damaged plywood underneath the existing asphalt.  The house was very old and we discovered that nearly every single piece of plywood needed to be replaced due to old and rotted wood.  The fact that Klaus kept his part of his bid low and fair, he saved me tons of money compared to the other quotes I got. I liked everything about my experience with Klaus and I would have not problem recommending him.  In fact, I plan to use him again for my future projects.

To Whom It May Concern: It gives me great pleasure to recommend Klaus Larsen LLC for your roofing project. Here are the highlights of my experience with Klaus: In August 2010 I began getting quotes for a complete roof replacement, our home still had the original roof (1985) and it was time. Klaus came in with a competitive bid and was able to get on the job within a couple weeks. Additionally, he thought he could complete it in one day, while other contractors were telling me 3-4 days. In early September, Klaus and his crew showed up, stripped the old roof clean, and installed the new roof, in one day! They did a professional job, the roof looked great, and they did a thorough clean-up of the gutters/yard/driveway. My wife and I were very pleased with the job. The roof functioned fine throughout the fall, winter, and into the spring. However, about mid-June I began to notice minor water damage on the ceiling of my garage. After a particularly windy thunderstorm, significant staining in the garage ceiling appeared. I called Klaus and he was at my house that afternoon. Upon his inspection, he determined there was a material problem with the new shingles. They could easily be lifted up from the underlying shingle as if they had never bonded to each other. This probably explained the water damage only during windy rain storms. Klaus took total control of the situation, got the GAF area representative out to the house the next week, and removed multiple chingles for GAF to analyze. After about 2 weeks the analysis came back, GAF admitted the shingles were “marginally acceptable”, and offered various options for remedying the situation, none of which included replacement. I was more than disappointed with their offer (this was a new 30 year roof), but Klaus reassured me “you are going to get a new roof, I give you my word”. Sure enough, Klaus took control, twisted some arms and got the approval of GAF for a complete roof strip and replacement. We picked out a new type of GAF shingle, about a week later he had the new roof in place at no cost to us. He even went so far as to rearrange his schedule so they could do the replacement while we were on vacation. Klaus Larsen LLC quoted replacing my roof.  The estimator was on time and after hearing my issues/concerns provided a detailed explanation on the job and construction procedures to address each issue.  He provided a quote on the spot.  I followed up with the estimator with questions after the quote and received immediate responses.  My job took two days and the removal of two layers of shingles off two roofs, 4 smaller overhang areas and flashing two chimneys.  I was on site for entire two days as I had a very bad experience in the past with a company so I am very guarded when it comes to working on my home.  The crew showed up 15 minutes earlier than promised both days.  The crew was friendly, courteous, and fast.  Klaus was on the job to oversee the beginning stages.  He too addressed all my concerns and offered insight/suggestions that were invaluable as we made cosmetic changes and the installation of new skylights that I was going to remove.  He is a perfectionist and is committed to the customer in providing what was promised and even a little extra.  When the crew left on day two, you would have never known the Larsen crew was there.  My job was not easy.  My neighbors were amazed at the speed and cleanliness of the job.  I recommend Klaus Larsen LLC for any roofing job.  Klaus delivered what was promised.
