When Mr. Alan in Nashville, Ga contacted MVW Roofing, his home's roof was in serious need of attention. Beneath the existing metal roofing, our team discovered not one but three layers of old material, including cedar shake and two layers of shingles. These aging layers were trapping moisture, adding unnecessary weight to the structure, and hiding rotted wood that could compromise the home's safety. In addition, multiple chimneys and flashing areas required upgrades to protect against water intrusion.
Our crew carefully removed all three layers of roofing down to the wood decking, replacing any rotted sections with high-quality plywood. We also repaired slat decking and fascia wood ad needed to ensure a solid foundation. Next, we installed Velora One synthetic felt underlayment for superior protection, along with transition and valley flashing to direct water away from vulnerable areas. The new roof was finished with durable 29-gauge painted Master Rib metal panels, complete with ridge caps, leaving Mr. Alan's home with a strong, weather resistant metal roofing system designed to last for decades.
Metal Roof Flashing Repair in Ray City, Ga
After Hurricane Helene swept through Ray City, many residents faced significant roof damage, including homeowner Justin. He discovered missing shingles and a leaking roof at his property. Seeking a solution, Justin contacted MVW Roofing and was promptly scheduled for a free estimate.
Our Sales Representative, Zach, quickly arrived to inspect the damage. He located the source of the leak and provided a temporary tarping service to protect the home from further damage in case of more rain. Justin was relieved to know the issue was being addressed and his roof safeguarded. After reviewing the estimate Zach provided, Justin immediately approved moving forward with the repairs.
Our crew promptly gathered the necessary materials and scheduled the work to accommodate Justin’s busy schedule. On production day, the team arrived ready to tackle the project. They began by stripping the roof down to the decking to thoroughly inspect for moisture damage. Any compromised decking was replaced with new OSB, ensuring a solid foundation. Next, we applied Velora underlayment, an extra protective barrier to prevent future leaks, followed by the installation of high-quality IKO shingles.
The process went smoothly, and once the final shingle was in place, our team thoroughly cleaned the area, ensuring no nails or debris were left behind. At MVW Roofing, we take pride in leaving every property spotless. The results were outstanding, and Justin was thrilled with his brand-new roof.
We’re grateful for Justin’s trust in us and proud to have delivered a solution that exceeded his expectations!
Every roof has a story, and Mr. Tim's had endured years of wear, weather exposure, and patchwork repairs. While it may have looked intact from a distance, a closer inspection revealed several underlying issues that needed attention. Aging materials had lost granules, reducing the roof's ability to protect against the elements. Some ridge vents were failing, leading to moisture buildup and inefficient airflow and, outdated skylights had become weak points for leaks and energy loss. To restore the roof’s integrity and efficiency, MVW Roofing implemented a strategic plan. We started by removing all existing roofing and skylights. We then replaced all rotted or damaged plywood. Following the Klaus Roofing way we used Velora One synthetic felt. We also installed Sealoron XT Water and Ice shield on all eves, valleys, and flashing areas. After installing new aluminum drip metal on the eves and rakes, we also installed new pipe boot flashings. Once the new ridge vents were installed the IKO Dynasty architectural shingles and ridge caps were put on. Now, this home is well-ventilated, energy-efficient, and safeguarded against future damage. MVW Roofing remains committed to delivering top-tier craftsmanship, ensuring that every project is built to last.
